Kick Start Online Learning with Ease - Common Sense

There are many obstacles when transitioning to online teaching and learning. From ensuring students have access to computers and internet to interruptions. The sheer amount of research involved in rethinking and revising your curriculum can be overwhelming. So many questions arise - especially from K- 2 teachers. How do I turn my classroom into a distance learning environment when students have little to no experience using digital tools?

The transition to distance learning in early elementary grades requires partnership from all.

Common Sense has compiled some family-friendly resources that can easily be customized. Included in the carefully curated resources:
  • Digital Resources
  • Set reasonable goals
  • Attempt a schedule
  • Let Common Sense pick the tools

You've Got a Friend in... URockEdu!

As teachers, we find ourselves in an unprecedented time for education. Hot off the press, in Tarrant County, Texas we just received a mandate that we are returning to remote learning for at least the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. And as teachers, we are all over the board with that decision.

ALSO as teachers, we crave schedules, routines, & plans. AND right now those are difficult to come by. Let me introduce you to a new friend...you've got a friend in URockEdu at our very own Region 11!

Region 11's Digital Learning Department (URockEdu) has curated resources for teachers that will assist you in the classroom:
-for remote teaching (mandated temporarily once again),
-for return to campuses as we once knew them,
-and/or every scenario in between.

Resources can be found on their webpage and include:

Currently, this team is also offering the following classes:
☝ Engage by Design Training (principles and best practices of blended learning - great for remote teaching)
Engage by Design Tools Series (note there are multiple tool sessions offered that support blended learning)
👌Canvas 101 Lite (great introduction to Canvas for remote teaching needs)

NOTE: Class fees may apply depending on your district's contract with Region 11.
