Have You Heard of the Calm App?
As teachers, we know that unique social/emotional challenges can lead to anxiety which can play a large role in our students' daily lives. What can WE do as teachers to provide our students with skills to combat these stressors? Can we teach them ways to cope through mindfulness training?
The Calm App is a Mindfulness training tool and right now Calm is giving teachers the app for FREE through The Calm Schools Initiative. The Calm App includes:
- Sleep stories
- Meditation guides
- Music to assist with relaxation, focus, etc.
- Masterclasses
- Body - relaxation techniques
- Breathing exercises
- Scenes (nature and its sounds)
- and Calm Kids - a collection of programs tailored for PK-High School
