Using Zoom Safely & Securely

With all we have heard in the news, Zoom can seem a little scary. Here are a few tips to Zooming with Safety & Security.

1. Don't make your Zoom links or passwords public! Mischief makers will find them if you do. Instead protect them through platforms such as:
  • Canvas
  • Google Classroom
  • Seesaw or
  • Emails sent to Students and Parents through TAC (Teacher Access Center).
Note: Zoom can be integrated in Canvas which allows only the course participants to join. See post here or handout here.

2. Enable (at least) these Meeting Settings:
  • Require meeting password
  • Enable waiting room

NOTE: As of April 6, 2020, Keller ISD requires password protected Zoom Meetings as well as an enabled waiting room.
